Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Pulliam LLC (“we,” “us”), the maker of Folklife (“the app”), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using Folklife you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and household membership, used to sign you in and operate the app.
- Household content — the tasks, goals, and related information you and your household create in the app.
- Phone number (optional) — if you enable Text Folklife, the mobile number you verify, used solely to send and receive the text messages described in our SMS Terms.
- Connected services (optional) — if you connect Google Calendar, Gmail, or a bank via Plaid, we access only the data needed to provide the features you turned on.
How we use information
We use your information to provide and operate Folklife: to manage your household tasks, generate your daily brief, send the text-message confirmations you request, and keep your account secure. We do not sell your personal information.
SMS / mobile information
No mobile information (including your phone number) and no SMS opt-in or consent data will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messages are delivered through our messaging provider (Twilio) solely to operate the texting feature you opted into. See our SMS Terms for opt-in and opt-out details.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the app — including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI (the app’s AI features), and Twilio (text messaging). These providers process data only on our behalf to deliver the service and are bound to protect it.
Data retention and security
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we apply reasonable safeguards to protect it. You can remove a linked phone number at any time in Settings, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us.
Your choices
- Manage or remove a linked phone number in Settings → Text Folklife.
- Reply STOP to any Folklife text to opt out of messaging.
- Disconnect any connected service in Settings.
Children
Folklife is designed for families. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the participation of minors in their household.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
